Your Pets Health and Welfare

By attending your appointment, you the owner confirm that your dog is fit and healthy.

Grooming of sick or elderly dogs is entirely at owner’s risk. We do not take responsibility if your dog develops an allergic reaction to shampoos, conditioners or any other grooming products.

(Please do inform us of ANY irritations as there are measures we can implement to minimise certain factors)

Our Safety

We reserve the right to muzzle your dog if it represents danger. Any dog who shows severe aggression to people or other dogs may not be accepted for grooming. Please let us know beforehand if your dog has behavioural problems.

Grooming Accidents

Accidents can happen we use very sharp professional equipment on a moving object (your dog) every precaution will be taken to prevent any injury. If an accident occurs in which we need to take your dog to a local vet please be aware you may be liable for any costs.

Neglected & Matted Coats

We do not accept liability for any conditions arising following the clipping of a matted dog. This can include irritation, redness or nicks. Conditions can begin underneath knots and mats which will only be seen once the knots/ mats have been removed. We will advise you if we feel a vet needs to take a look. Be aware it will feel odd to your dog to have all these knots removed so please be vigilant in the days following a clip-off to prevent any unnecessary injuries occurring from scratching after a clip off.

Ear Plucking

Removing the hair can irritate the delicate skin of ear canals and lead to ear problems. Plucking the hair from a dog’s ear canal leaves minute openings on the skin where bacteria could settle more easily.

We will advise you to seek veterinary advice if there are issues present or, we can also show you the owner how to maintain removing the hair weekly at home which minimises risks from plucking ear hair.

We will only pluck ears upon owner request and providing the dog will tolerate the process.  We will not pluck a dog’s ears that has any condition identified preventing us from doing so.

Fleas/Ticks

There will be from time to time instances where your pet will have a few friends, If your dog is found to have fleas there will be an additional cost of £10 to pay for the products required for us to treat the salon and your dog/s.

This cost includes us using a medicated flea shampoo that kills the fleas on your pet and then the flea treatment of the salon at the end of the day to ensure that any fleas within the salon are killed.

Ticks will be removed as part of the grooming process at no additional cost during the groom, outside of a groom and for just this service then a separate fee will apply, please contact the salon for pricing.

Anal Glands

We will only express anal glands upon customer request and this is at an additional cost. It is our philosophy that this process should be performed by a licensed veterinary person, and only when medically necessary. We believe that anal gland expression should not be a recurring procedure applied to a healthy animal, as serious consequences can result.

Time Keeping

We work by appointment only. Please be punctual. If you are late more than 15 minutes, your appointment may be rescheduled and a fee applied. Most grooms take 2 hours or more depending on the size and the temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. You will be advised what time to collect your dog. Please be on time as each dog is allocated the correct amount of time for the groom. We will wave to you from the window as soon as we are ready for you to enter the salon to collect your dog should you have arrived early.

Cancellation

We request 24 hours working notice as a minimum if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. 24 hours or less than this or a no show will result in full payment of the groom being applicable and the potential for a deposit if this becomes a regular issue.

Payments

Please pay by cash or card upon collection of your dog/s.  Payment after collection is not permitted.

Groom Feedback

We would love to hear from you if you are happy with the service that you have received, our groomers work hard to achieve the best grooms as per your requests and it’s always lovely for them to hear the feedback.

If on the other hand you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet’s groom and we would sincerely hope that you are not please let us know within 24 hours of the groom, failure to do so could impact any actions we may take.

It is worth noting that contact needs to be within business hours of 9am – 430pm Monday to Friday.

Photographs

Your dog may be photographed before, during and after their groom. Photographs may be used on our website, social media or other printed materials, if you do not consent for these images to be used please advise us as soon as possible.
